Title: Project & Portfolio Management Consultant

Industry: Project/program management/consulting services

Location: Client sites-75% travel

Compensation: $85-110K range

  • Project Management Consulting
  • Enterprise Project Management
  • PMI Training

As a Senior Consultant at Project Solutions Group specializing in Project and Portfolio Management, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as both a technical and functional resource within the PSG organization
  • Designing, developing and implementing solutions around Microsoft Office Project and Portfolio Server 2007
  • Facilitating, for our clients, the decision making process for prioritization and optimization of project portfolios
  • Building a strong relationship with the client
  • Cross-training in other PSG offerings, such as implementing Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, Project Management Office development, project audit/recovery solutions, project management augmentation and project and portfolio management training
  • Providing support to the PSG sales team during the sales process, in the form of participation on sales calls, product demos and proposal development
  • Supporting and leading PSG public webcasts in the areas of Project and Program Portfolio Management and Microsoft Project Portfolio Server  

Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of Portfolio, Program and Project Management concepts and theory
  • Ability to design and configure Portfolio, Program and Project management solutions
  • Solid understanding of the consulting model and packaged application implementation lifecycles
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Project
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Project and Portfolio Server 2007 from both a Configuration and Functional perspective
  • Practical understanding of Microsoft architectures, including Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, etc.
  • 4-year college degree preferable in Information Systems or a comparable degree
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%

Professional Skill Requirements:

  • Proven success in contributing to a team
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on skills configuring Microsoft technologies
  • Experience configuring, deploying or integrating with Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Server or Microsoft Office Project Server

 A plus:

  • Knowledge of collaborative and portal technologies
  • PMP Certification
  • EVM Certification
